An ever evolving creature, Natalie Abell has been many different things at many different times. Power, playfulness, and emotional honesty are inspiration for Natalie’s artistic work.  Throughout her eight years performing quirky characters she has been described as “strength incarnate", “visceral”, “joyful yet tender,” and even “a thug in pigtails.” She grew up climbing trees, tumbling and singing The Little Mermaid, later growing up to be an engineer for a time before becoming a full time to circus performer and educator. She specializes in hand balancing, hula hoops, acrobatics, and aerial rope. A producer and performer, she is the cofounder of Misfit Circus, part of the current cast of Brave Space and has performed for Lallapalooza, Circus Now: International Circus Exposure, Atlanta Aerial Festival, Moment of Circus Festival, C2E2, GenCon and more. 

 

Her pension to defy expectations and explore the confluence of technology, circus, and emotion is driven by her belief that risk is a vital part of human growth. Inspiring play passionately draws her to teaching and helping others find and build their strength.
